 Back when I was a kid, I remember being enthralled with my BMX bicycle (a Mongoose , no less) and racing through the woods with my friends or trying our best to perform tricks on our very own half-pipe we built. One day we raced to a deep ravine near our neighborhood, and I was dared to make a run down this treacherous hill and splash into the water below. Trying to be the big tough guy, I accepted the challenge and began to ease my bike down this steep 75-foot cliff. I picked up speed and lost control maybe 15 feet into my run. Luckily the hill was mostly sand sprinkled with gravel and wasn’t badly injured as I tumbled all the way down and into the water below.
