THQ and Nickelodeon today announced the latest addition to its "Rugrats" video game line, "Rugrats: Totally Angelica" for Game Boy Color. Based on "Rugrats," Nickelodeon's No. 1 kids TV show, "Rugrats: Totally Angelica" is a brand new game specifically targeting the girl gamer. In development by Tiertex, "Rugrats: Totally Angelica" is scheduled to launch in spring of 2000.

"As the industry's No. 1 third-party publisher, THQ is well positioned to respond to the growing demand for high-quality Game Boy Color games and even more so to the growing number of young girl gamers," said Michael Rubinelli, vice president of product development, THQ.
"This new game allows millions of Angelica fans to immerse themselves in Angelica's world with varied modes such as mini-games with the `Rugrats' babies, a fashion show, an involved Fantasy World mode and an electronic diary."

Nickelodeon's "Totally Angelica" program is a whole new approach to fashion and glamour play with an over-the-top attitude, debuting in spring 2000. This gender-specific line gives fans a whole new way to connect with Angelica Pickles and includes toys, apparel, software, books and more.

"We're thrilled to launch our first-ever girl-targeted software title with `Rugrats: Totally Angelica,'" said Steve Youngwood, director, software, publishing and new businesses, Nickelodeon Consumer Products. "Nickelodeon continues to deliver creator-driven product that extends the `Rugrats' experience on Game Boy Color."

In "Rugrats: Totally Angelica," players assume the role of Angelica Pickles, where her main objective is to collect various items including clothes, shoes and accessories. With Angelica's collected items, she can dress-up and star in her very own fashion show to continue on to the next level. Many of the familiar `Rugrats' babies host mini-games including Chuckie's Color Challenge, Tommy's Match-the-Card game and Phil and Lil's Bug Hunt.

An electronic diary is another key feature in "Rugrats: Totally Angelica." Players can keep an inventory of all collected items, friends' names and phone numbers and even send messages with friends via Game Boy Color's Infrarred Communications Port.

Players will also be able to save, share and even exchange items and diary notes with friends. In addition, the game offers players an escape into Angelica Pickles' Fantasy World, where Princess Angelica encounters magical creatures
